Mel’s Story
I’ve spent years writing and podcasting, always drawn to meaningful conversations and helping people make sense of their experiences.
Through my experience with a neurodivergent family member, I’ve come to appreciate the many different ways children see and experience the world. It’s shown me how important stories are in helping kids feel understood.
I believe that being different isn’t something to fix—it’s something to celebrate.
Now, I write children’s books that are playful, thoughtful, and centred around helping kids feel confident in who they are.
Each story is brought to life through my collaboration with illustrator Mandy Waqanivalu. Her vibrant, playful illustrations add another layer of storytelling, helping kids connect with the characters and ideas in a fun and engaging way.
